A Craftivist in spite of myself
A year and a half ago, I challanged myself to get to a healthy weight range. The motivation is coming from three directions:
1. Reward - When I reach the top of the weight range, I get to get a tattoo. Yes this is something I've given a LOT of thought to, and I've also researched the heck out of it. But I've gone through a lot of changes in my life, and I think a butterfly on my ankle would be very fitting. If I actually reach the bottom of the weight range (the so-called "ideal" weight), then I'm going to
swim with dolphins!
2. Grueling Punishment - I am not allowed to cut my hair until I reach the top of the healthy weight range. This is a HUGE deal for me. I LOATHE having long hair. I still have fifty more pounds to lose, so when I finally reach my goal, I'll have a good ponytail of at least ten inches. And that leads to...

3. Humanitarianism - When I reach a healthy weight, the aforementioned ponytail will be going bye-bye, by way of
Locks of Love. And with it, I am donating 5% of all sales to them.

I must admit, the ponytail progress is going better than the weight loss progress. I've plateaued quite a bit, but I've not gained it back.
Despite the personal reasons that ignited this mission, I still firmly believe in the cause of Locks of Love. Kids should have as much opportunity as they can for positive well-being. That is why Locks of Love and
The Smile Train are two of my favorite charities.
So if you're in the mood to shop and are looking for some eclectic accessories that are fun and functional, click on the "Other Storefronts" tab at the top of the page and visit one of my shops. You get something cool, I get to keep my shop up and running, and a disadvantaged child with alopecia comes a little bit closer to receiving a hair prosthetic, helping them forget about the disease. Everyone wins! So far over $50 has already been donated from my shop sales. I'm upping the ante now, too. In addition to the 5%, I'll donate an additional 10% from the sales of any hair accessories sold.
This is all in effect until I reach my goal. In the meantime, have fun shopping! And, if someone could hide the Oreosв„ў, I'd appreciate it...
