The True Symbol of June

It's not the Pearl. It's not the Rose. It's not even Gemini or Cancer.

Ah, yes, June. Month of pollen, and allergens of all sorts. Allergies are year-round for me and a lot of other people, but at this time of year, many people are willing to brave the histamines, all in the name of a beautiful garden, a glorious trek through the hiking trails, a rousing sports season, or even just basking in the long-awaited for sunshine. The local pharmacies have stocked their shelves and armed themselves for the seasonal influx of die-hard outdoors enthusiasts who want to laugh in the face of drifting seed pods and pollen that otherwise would keep them sequestered in their comparatively dark, air-conditioned homes. As for me? Hand me that Loratadine and pocket pack of tissues! Nothing is going to stop me from plunging my hands in the dirt and making something grow!
