Right at the beginning of April, I was down with a horrible cold. The illness is long gone, but so are my routines, my motivation, and who knows what else! It’s been way too long since I’ve done the things I love to do. I’m putting my foot down now and going on an all-out hunt to find my motivation.

Starting with my messy desk at work, I picked up a deep-discounted organizer for about $5 and tried to put my desk in order. Well, the front of my desk is a little bit cleaner, but I didn’t find my motivation yet. I think I’ll try my balcony next. Perhaps it’s buried in one of my pots…

A local counseling office is the home to this little brat diva darling, Maxine. She’s approximately 4 months old, and was adopted from the local shelter. She and her other kitty pal, Minuchin (I still have to get a snapshot of him), are quite the welcoming committee when you walk in the door. The first time my husband and I ever entered that office, Minuchin greeted us at the door, ushered us to where he wanted us to sit, then immediately jumped on my anti-cat husband’s lap, sat on the book he was going to read, and commenced snuggling.

I do believe that it’s not possible to be uneasy whilst receiving kitty kisses from a cat purring louder than a jackhammer. And from what I’ve been told, even people with allergies have never complained about them. Perhaps not all types of offices are appropriate (ie, doctors, dentists, etc.), but I imagine that a trip to the BMV would be a lot less stressful if you could be entertained by a couple of fuzzy faces

1. Be careful how you live your life: you never know if future family members will ever get into genealogy.

2. Entire ecosystems can be formed just by putting produce in the bottom drawer of your refrigerator.

4. Bad-mouthing has never solved any problems. Ever.

7. One of the keys to effective learning is to be able to screw up in front of other people.

8. Having your ego deflated isn’t always a bad thing.

9. If you’re feeling gassy, don’t force anything. Just… trust me on this. It doesn’t end well.
