Great Amigurumi for Knitters

I'm not really a Bandwagon kind of girl, but I must say that I adore the little crochet critters that are popping up all over the place. Problem is, I can't crochet to save my life. I can chain till the cows come home, but anything else puts the yarn's life in peril for my utter confusion. Knitting patterns for these adorable little stuffed animals are few and far between compared to the bounty of wonderful crochet designs out there. In my searches, though, I was absolutely delighted to find Raynor, designer of the Jelly Bums!

Her menagerie of colorful, wonderful knit animals set my fingers twitching, and couldn't stop myself from buying the pattern for the tiger.

I have to tell you, these little guys are fun to knit! One of the things I love about these designs is that they are very customizable. There are three different options for the legs, if you choose to make them. Personally, I think I am going to knit them without the legs, as I think they are adorable as is, and they will be sitting on the ledge of my cubicle at work when I finish them. There are also three different body options, so you can make them as stuffed toys, finger puppets, or egg cozies. Raynor is also very thorough in the way she has written these patterns. She is very up front about the skills you should know beforehand, and puts important notes before the actual pattern starts so you are prepared before you start knitting. The pattern wording itself is very clear and easy to understand. She is also delightful when it comes to customer service. When I contacted her with a question about choosing a fiber, she answered promptly, thoroughly, and was very friendly. These patterns can be purchased on Etsy, Ravelry, and on her Blog. I fully intend to collect them all ;)
