Sometimes inspiration comes from unusual places. When I was choosing the next library book to review on the Knit Misadventures podcast, I decided to specifically look for something old to see if it still held value in a collection, or if it had become redundant. At the time, the oldest book on the shelf was "A Treasury of Knitting Patterns" by Barbara G. Walker.
This book is a real eye-opener for me. These fabulous vintage stitches are all new to me, and are setting my imagination in full gear for the first time in quite a while. For months, I've been down in the doldrums with my shops. Sales are slow, and the bummer moods were curtailing my production and designing. But seeing these patterns and trying out swatches is giving me all kinds of new ideas for new or redesigned products to sell.
Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm in the mood to brighten up my shops with fresh ideas this summer. I'll keep you posted on my progress!
